Hello,
Hello,
I bought a little glass oil lamp from an antique shop. I put oil in it and have lit it. However, it flickers so badly it’s like a strobe light! Anyone know how I can get the flame to calm down?
I already trimmed the wick. This didn’t help.

if the wick is not adjustable blow it out and try trimming a little bit off at the corners

Turn the wick down until it stops flickering. Wick too high is the usual cause of flickering, and it also causes the lamp to smoke. Also, when you trim the wick, trim it so it’s not flat across the top. Cut the corners off a little and you’ll get a nice rounded flame.
Try placing your lamp in another location. You might be getting a cross draft over the chimney that you might not feel but the little flame does.
Hope this helps.
